The weight scale includes a “GUEST” button that does not send any readings to the server, letting anyone who is not a Carematix patient use the scale without causing a disruption in the readings of someone who is closely tracking their weight.
For patients who have congestive heart failure (CHF) or preeclampsia, sudden weight gain can indicate a worsening condition and need for hospitalization. Unfortunately, when patients are asked to keep track of their weight changes, the reporting is often inconsistent.
Using the Carematix scale with the Carematix Wellness System (CWS) provides better quality data. Weight is reported with an independent time stamp, preventing inaccurate records. The data is reported automatically, eliminating transcription errors. Monitoring with the CWS helps physicians be alerted to weight changes quickly to make early intervention possible. Daily weight (and blood pressure) measurements would help considerably with the treatment plan for patients with CHF or preeclampsia.
